“When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.”
Honestly, these is one the life principles that took me some time to see it really happen.
This magical secret has been shared by one of my great teachers Dr. Wayne Dyer. Coining the exact explanation from his website, Dr. Dyer explains:
The truth of this little maxim is actually found in the field of quantum physics, which, according to some, is a subject that’s not only stranger than you think it is, it’s stranger than you can think.
It turns out that at the tiniest subatomic level, the actual act of observing a particle changes the particle. The way we observe these infinitely small building blocks of life is a determining factor in what they ultimately become.
If we extend this metaphor to larger and larger particles and begin to see ourselves as particles in a larger body called humanity or even larger—life itself—then it’s not such a huge stretch to imagine that the way we observe the world we live in affects that world.
I can state many changes in my life that started with simply seeing things differently. In other words, wearing a different set of eyes – the eyes of love. From attitudes of people I work with, my family, and even the way I see the world. One exact example is how I viewed all the recent disasters as an opportunity to re-imagine a new and better Philippines.
But for me the biggest change that has happened just by changing the way I look at it was the way I get things in my life. You see, I’ve been programmed to be an achiever, so it has always been ME. I used to have trust issues – especially on skills – so I usually do things on my own. Of course, when I nail it I get all the credits, and thus my ego bloated.
However, as I get on with the tougher things in life – like running a business – “me, me, me, me” surely doesn’t work anymore. And these has been where I get stuck too often.
I have always been trying to control things, and get things the way I want it. So there’s always that taxing, tiresome, and difficult effort of getting things done.
Slowly, as I progress in this journey knowing my inner self, and understanding the laws of the universe – God. That’s when things got pretty interesting. Day after day, things change. There would be times that I would sigh in the morning, “Gosh, I need extra money next week.” In the afternoon, a client calls, boom a project is closed. Sometimes I need a person, a thing, or a certain equipment for film making. And I don’t know how, all I know is that I’ll get it. And then boom, the following day, sometimes days after, I have it.
That’s how things have been working for me these past months already.
So what changed exactly?
From believing that only “I” can get things I need, TO I am just a channel for things to reach me. I am not the controller, nor the person who does it all, I simply am just involved. There’s always that big orchestration of things, people, events, chances, connections – molecular change – that’s behind the process of acquiring things in life. And it’s super effortless!
Here are 10 steps, Dr. Wayne Dyer shared (All I followed religiously!) to attract abundance in life:
Friendly reminder: You may NOT follow, I’m no preacher here. These just worked for many thousands of people, so it’s all up to you. =D
Step 1: See the world as an abundant, providing, friendly place.
Step 2: Affirm: I attract success and abundance into my life because that is who I am.
Step 3: Stay in an attitude of allowing. Thoughts of resistance hinders the gifts to flow through you.
Step 4: Use your present moments to activate thoughts that are in harmony with the seven faces of intention [creativity, kindness, love, beauty, expansion, abundance, and peaceful receptivity].
Step 5: Initiate actions that support your feelings of abundance and success. Talk more, get out more, interact more, engage more yourself in things prompted by the heart – experience more!
Step 6: Remember that your prosperity and success will benefit others, and that no one lacks abundance because you’ve opted for it.
Step 7: Monitor your emotions as a guidance system for your connection to the universal mind of intention.
Step 8: Become as generous to the world with your abundance as the field of intention is to you.
Step 9: Devote the necessary time to meditate on the Spirit within as the source of your success and abundance.
Step 10: Develop an attitude of gratitude for all that manifests into your life.
Once again, I’m grateful to have shared!
Live in love,
PS. How about you? What do you usually do to get things in life effortlessly? Comment in and share your abundance!
